1. Who we are
Plotwire UK Ltd (company number 17305463, registered office 12 Field View, South Milford, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS25 5GH) is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Contact: admin@plotwire.uk. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office, registration number ZC258183.
The personal data of your own clients that you put into Plotwire (for example names and addresses on jobs) is handled differently: you are its controller and we process it on your behalf under our Data Processing Terms.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Providing your account and the Service | Contract |
| Taking payment and managing your subscription | Contract |
| Keeping the Service secure, fixing errors, preventing misuse | Legitimate interests |
| Service emails (account, security, billing, changes to terms) | Contract / legitimate interests |
| Keeping tax and accounting records | Legal obligation |
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you that have legal effects.
4. Who we share it with
We use these service providers ("sub-processors") to run Plotwire. Each is bound by a contract to protect the data.
| Provider | What they do | Data location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, login and file storage | UK (London) |
| Vercel | Hosting the app | USA |
| Stripe | Payments and subscriptions | UK / EU / US |
| Resend | Sending service emails | USA |
| Sentry | Error monitoring | USA |
We may also share data if the law requires it, or with a buyer if Plotwire's business is sold.
5. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK, mainly in the USA. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations (including the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
6. How long we keep it
- Account, profile and content: while your account is open, and for 30 days after it closes so you can ask for a copy. Then deleted.
- Backups: overwritten on a rolling basis within 7 days of deletion.
- Billing records: 6 years, as required for tax.
- Error reports: up to 90 days.
7. How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each account can only access its own data; this is enforced in the database itself. Access to admin systems is limited to Plotwire staff, protected by two-step login, and used only for support, maintenance and security.
8. Cookies and local storage
Plotwire does not set any cookies, and we do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. The app stores a small amount of information in your browser's local storage so that it works properly:
| Item | Purpose | How long it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in session (set by our login provider, Supabase) | Keeps you signed in | Removed when you sign out |
| Drawing recovery copy | Restores your drawing if your browser closes or crashes before it saves | Removed when you sign out |
| Onboarding choice | Remembers if you skipped the business-details step on this device | Removed when you sign out |
| Light/dark mode | Remembers your display preference | Until you clear your browser data |
The first three are strictly necessary to provide the Service; the last is a preference you choose. Because none of them track you, we do not ask for cookie consent. You can clear them at any time through your browser settings.
Payments are handled on Stripe's own website (checkout.stripe.com and billing.stripe.com), which uses its own cookies under Stripe's privacy policy.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, or object to or restrict how we use it. Email admin@plotwire.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
10. Changes
We will tell you about material changes by email or in the app.
